South Carolina Public Charter School District Launches New Brand Identity, Website

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Dec. 14, 2021) — As a new year approaches, the South Carolina Public Charter School District unveiled a refreshed brand identity and website today, Dec. 14. The new visual identity conveys the district’s core values and continues to establish SCPCSD as the leading authorizer of innovative K-12 public charter schools in South Carolina.

For the past several months, the S.C. Public Charter School District and our partners, Rhodes Branding, have been working diligently to reimagine the district’s identity as we move forward out of the COVID-19 pandemic and into a new year.

“Throughout this process, we have engaged a diverse group of voices from across the district to inform the direction of the new visual identity and website,” said Chris Neeley, superintendent of the S.C. Public Charter School District. “The new identity aligns with our mission to provide every student in South Carolina with access to academic opportunities to reach their fullest potential.”

The new iconic South Carolina glyph featured in the visual identity includes an updated color palette that depicts the district’s core values: optimism, innovation, advocacy, diversity, excellence, and relationships. “We wanted to give South Carolina Public Charter School District the platform to ground some really big leaps forward, and a strong brand is the foundation for these steps,” said Rhodes Branding Vice President of Creative Jennifer Tausch. “We’re so thankful to the entire SCPCSD team for entrusting us with this process and being an amazing partner over the last several months. The new identity clearly defines where the district wants to go in the future.”

Enhancements to the new SCCharter.org include a new look, intuitive design for easy navigation, and an upgraded engagement experience for families, students, and those interested in starting a charter school in South Carolina.

“We designed this website to better serve our current and prospective families as we continue to learn more about their needs and the experience they expect with our brand,” Neeley added. “The new website is more user-friendly, compliant and will help us better tell the amazing stories of student and staff achievement from across our district.”
