Greer Middle College has been designated a Workforce Center of Excellence (WCOE) by the South Carolina Public Charter School District (PCSD), becoming the second school in South Carolina to receive the designation recognizing a strong commitment to preparing students for success after high school.
The designation recognizes Greer Middle Collegeâs longstanding efforts to connect education with the real world through college-credit opportunities, capstone projects, internships, project-based learning, and partnerships with Greenville Technical College, local employers and community organizations.
âWe are not giving Greer Middle College a new identity todayâwe are recognizing who they already are,â said PCSD Superintendent Chris Neeley. âThey have built a strong model for connecting students to college, careers and meaningful opportunities, and this designation recognizes that commitment while challenging the school to take it even further.â
As a Workforce Center of Excellence, Greer Middle College will continue expanding opportunities that prepare students for what comes next through PCSDâs EÂł framework: Employed, Enrolled and Enlisted. The goal is simple: when students graduate, they will have a clear pathway to pursue their talents, interests and purposeâwhether that means entering the workforce, enrolling in college or serving our nation.
âDifferent pathways. Different talents. Different dreams.â Neeley said. âThat is Kids First. Graduation isnât the finish line. Purpose is.â
