Statement from Superintendent Neeley on the passage of Senate Bill 454 (Charter School Accountability):
“The South Carolina Public Charter School District applauds the efforts of both the House and Senate — especially House Education Chair Shannon Erickson and Senate Education Chair Greg Hembree — for advancing meaningful legislation designed to strengthen charter schools across South Carolina.
This bill represents a significant step forward in promoting accountability, transparency, and strong governance within the state’s charter school sector. The PCSD has long advocated for strict adherence to the Charter Schools Act, and we believe these measures will help ensure charter schools continue to serve students and families with integrity, excellence and a clear commitment of putting all kids first.”
